I never worried about leaving small roots. I had a mulcher clear 20 ac that had been logged. He cut the stumps down below the ground about 3" below ground. I ran a heavy duty offset dis over it for the next 2 years then started no-tilling it. Been 12 years and probably still wouldn't run a plow in it but it works fine in no-till corn and beans.
Cleared ground…how long to wait for tillage?
