Boone Co. Iowa
E plant that publishes basis went from -.30 to today at -.12 posted basis. That was over a week as harvest winds down. I combined my last corn yesterday. Not too much left standing. Piles are not that big, and local e plant guys are scrambling, which is mostly normal, but Iowa is gonna be way short on corn compared to last year. Acres high, but that just tells me that beans are gonna be short too, compared to last year. Your mileage may vary, but there are some decent sized corn farmers who decided not to fungicide due to low price of corn this summer. Not a lot, but enough. If it wasn’t for high corn acres, things would be very snug.
