Our Dairy Queen was the number 1 in the state in sales and service for many years when I was a kid. The old man sold out to his son round about 2000, who rode dad's coat-tails with much of the same staff for about 10 yrs then sold out to Richeson, (I think thats the name of the company) They've been buying up as many of the Texas DQ's they can for about 20 yrs as I understand it. Since shortly after that happened, I won't set foot in there for anything except the occasional ice cream. Their food is horrendous, the portions are literally the size a kids meal used to be, and the service is atrocious. They managed to finally buy the one in St Jo, TX a couple yrs ago and kept much of the staff. As of the last time i was in there, The food is ok(not as good as it was), but the portions have changed to match the one in Nocona.
So, I think they're running themselves out of business. | |
