My opinion is that some of you may severely underestimate the earnings of some of this YouTube personalities. Several have said you doubt he makes more than he makes farming.. ever heard of a guy named Derek Bieri? Now I know he's in the upper % of personalities, but you're talking about a guy who spends money to make every video, and can't buy property and give away cars fast enough to keep ahead of the taxes due to the huge revenue. One of few people I can believe actually makes money giving away vehicles. I would say every "give away" he does for say a $50,000 vehicle or cash option probably grosses over $100K in merchandise sales just for folks trying to have a chance at a win. It's insanity but more power to him, guy busts his rear end and makes no bones about the fact that his family sacrifices seeing him because of it. The ones really making a killing are the video game youtubers.. they have almost no expenses (they'd be buying and playing the games anyway), and they make hours upon hours of content on the same game for up to and sometimes more than a year at a time. There's 14 year olds that would making some of the more well off on this forum look like peasants I assure you. Look at the Country View Acres guy over in SIL. Quit his probably 100K a year job to farm his 2 6 or 7 acre hay fields and 25 acres or so of pasture and a handful of cattle and sheep. New tractors provided and all sorts of tools rolling in for free what seems like every couple of weeks. As someone said earlier, the freebies and the sponsorships are where it's at.
