| As of right now, DJI and Autel are the only ones named specifically for going on the covered list. Some of DJIs shell companies have also been named as well, like Anzu Robotics. The recent vote was aimed at closing a loophole that DJI was trying to use to remain in the country by using these shell companies. So the target is now aimed at covered components (flight controllers and the like) and not just the company. DJI uses a unique frequency which made it easy to pinpoint these various shell companies.
The others can't be ruled out completely unfortunately, but they aren't being named yet (publicly at least) so they would be safer options in the short term. But again, it can't be ruled out as a possibility.
Ceres Air is manufacturing the flight controller and other sensitive electronics for their drone, and a US company is handling all the software and server stuff, so they are legally qualified to be called an American made drone in the eyes of the FCC and FAA, or that's how it's been explained to me anyways. So they would be the safest option long term right now | |
