We seem to  have some very selective memory in this thread.

Dick Cheney was #1 an oil man. He encouraged the 2003 invasion of Iraq and said that the Iraqis would pay us back our costs in oil. Sure.

According to Wikipedia:

"He was an early proponent of the decision to invade Iraq, falsely alleging that Saddam Hussein regime possessed weapons of mass destruction and an operational relationship with Al-Qaeda; however neither allegation  was ever substantiated. He also pressured the intelligence community to provide intelligence consistent with the administration's rationales for invading Iraq.... he was often criticized for the Bush administration's policies ... and his endorsement of the US's interrogation torture program"

Many US servicemen lost their lives or limbs in Iraq because of Dick Cheney.
