Iowa | Cost? I hear complaining about cost but how many of you would take the next 240 acres for rent for 400/acre?
Here it wouldnt even take a phone call, Just a whisper of land for rent or rumor floating around in the neighborhood, and you'd have everybody in your driveway.
When will the farmer get sick and tired of working for freaking peanuts? I have the answer. Never, as long as they can run their machinery across more acres and "spread their costs" they'll be satisfied working for very little.
Breaking news, those big companies dont care about you one bit. Your seed dealer isnt your friend, the fertilizer salesman isnt your friend. The chemical dealers all sell the same crap for different prices all over the place.
Their all farming the farmer without doing much work at all.
