Even if you get it to take grease I would recommend taking off the inspection plate of the horizontal auger to see what kind of shape the rivet heads are in that hold the ring that the elbow pivots on to the vertical tube.  If they get thin it will twist that ring right off and in my experience on a 1660 it will fail when its full of grain.
