Southern MN | Currently using a DMI 530 ripper in corn stalks, these have a 12.5 working width, 5 shanks on 25" spacing if I remember correctly. Has anyone upgraded to a 870 or 875 and used the same tractor? I want to be able to pull it with both a 275 Magnum (which handles the 530 well) or 335 Magnum. The smallest 8 series is 14' working width and 7 shanks, according to the literature I can find. Wondering if they pull much harder? If I can't manage the 870/875 with the smaller tractor, I will probably just try and find a 530C. The 275 does have a Steinbauer, and usually runs about 85-90 percent power in my soils at 6-7 mph.
