How else are you going to keep the belt tight without that spring to unload your grain bin?

Make sure the rubber bushing on the other side is snugged up good so that it doesn't throw the slack to the opposite side and throw the belt off and break it. With it loose it probably vibrates a lot breaking the head of the tension bolt for the spring.
