The big differences I saw in our PPO this year was they either reduced or eliminated some of the "above and beyond Medicare" freebies to cut costs. For example we used to get $50 each quarter to get supplies from CVS. Started out 25 a month. Dropped to 40 or 50 a quarter and finally for 2026 they dropped it altogether. The list of stuff we could get was limited so it only held marginal value to us anyway but we did get some stuff we could use. The hearing aids stuff is not quite as good as it used to be. My first pair was free. Second pair was free for the replacible batteries type but I had to pay 500 for the rechargable version. I think now they went to a pair every two years instead of every year. Which kind of makes sense, they certianly do not wear out annually.

There are a few other cost saving things. I think now I have to pay a little more on the first five days of hospitalization before they pick up the whole bill. Prescription drugs got a little better. Used to have to pay like fifty cents or a buck copay for my eye drops now they cost me nothing. Little piddly stuff mostly. A little higher copay on specialists, like five bucks more.

Considering I am paying zero dollars a month for it (other than what they take out of everyones SS check) so far I am way ahead with the PPO and figure we will stay that way unless or untill we become sickly and require lots of doctor/hospital/drugs stuff. Then it could all change.
