Curious as to why you would want to go to the trouble to remove the RWA axle? Not eating anything just sitting there, and I would think it could only help the resale value. I live in a world where they're all RWA machines, so I may be a little biased in my opinion. Even in years where I had no need to use it, I would cycle mine off and on for half an hour or so every few days of each harvest moreso than anything so that I had some confidence that it would come on when I needed it to.
