Pittsburg, Kansas | Thanks for the link.
I have followed D'Augstino for several years now. Me being a diver his work on oxygen toxicity under pressure was of interest to me. He did work for the military and found that divers on a ketogenic diet were more tolerant of the condition so the desire was to come up with an exogenous source of ketones because following a strict diet to maintain ketosis was not always practical and took time to acomplish.
A big problem with the exogenous ketones is the cost to make them. The salts like I linked to are the most economical form but have other limitations. I have also used MCT oil as well as some other forms such as esters. (Edit: the information he provides about this at about the 50 minute mark is VERY interesting.)
I'm watching your link now.
Edit: It appears cancer treatment can be improved when glucose levels are lowered and the body depends more on ketones for energy. Dom has done work in this area as have others like Seyfried.
