S Illinois | What criticism. There is the stupid line of “oh he works for USDA” line. No debate no discussion. Only “oooh he must work at USDA.” That’s not criticism.
Edit: And I am not sorry for leaning on USDA data more than farmers report. When one hears for years, it’s terrible dry, it’s terrible late, it’s terrible wet” and then 200-230 bu county averages come about, one gets jaded with “in the field reports.” It’s interesting how the theme this year has slowly become, the yields are good but not as good as last year. And yet last year at this very time it was being said “the yields are good but not as good as 2023”. Sort of a theme going on.
