If you are getting a good night's sleep and have trouble functioning without a nap during the day there is probably something going on. Before going the route of a sleep study I would see your primary care doctor and explain what is going on. They will most likely order a full blood panel and other tests to assess your breathing and oxygen levels. The blood panel will help rule out anything like leukemia or other blood disorders that can have an impact on breathing and energy levels. If that all checks out they will look at how well you are really sleeping at night which will entail a sleep study. There is nothing wrong with a short nap if you have time for it but if you need a nap during the day at your age you need to get checked out.
