Our house was moved and a new, deeper, basement put under it.
The only thing that appeared were a few cracks in the drywall around the doors, usually from the top corners to the ceiling. All the doors worked fine.
I think it is probably a "find a GOOD house moving company" thing, if you cheap out, you'll probably have those problems your cement guy talked about.
