did kind of same thing with my old house when I moved in eons ago. dug a partial basement then blocked up foundation around it for furnace, water heater etc.
If I were you I would consider wiping it all out and replacing with whatever suits your needs. live in an rv for 9 months till it is all done. hope all is well your way.
