| I remember in the early 1990s when Colorado Buffalos were good, playing Mizzou tigers. Mizzou was ahead at the end of the game, Colorado had the ball inside the MU 5 yard line. Refs lost count on the downs, Colorado finally scored to win the game on 5th down, even with everyone not from CU screaming at them that they had already used up their 4 downs.
It was all on film, the refs messed up. CU went on undefeated and were given a share of the national championship with another team, even though everyone knew they really werent undefeated.
I dont miss those days of the mythical national champion, decided on by media and coaches polls......Some years there was no question, but too many times it was a joke | |
