SW Ohio
Skip the narrow rows and go to 30" beans. Sure made a difference around here, and you're south of me a bit, so should be just fine. I had a Kinze and never cared for the mashed down rows. You didn't see a difference every year, but the times you did it made you sick because it was all the way across the field. Can't say if it really made a yield difference at the end of the year, but why take the chance?

30" planters are cheaper to buy, cheaper to maintain, weigh less, and produce at least as good of a crop as 15" planters do. My bean yields went up when I changed row spacing. Did it with the Kinze a few years to make sure of what I was doing. Also didn't run over any rows in 30" spacing! Give it a try, I think you'll like it
