Ft. Ripley MN
Imagine everyone farming what they could afford to lose….

Crop insurance is like medical insurance in my opinion. Everyone gets covered. Wasn’t that many years ago when the previous generation pulled $100 bills out of the coffee can to pay for medical procedures. Maybe there is some instances where it does good… maybe new guys should have the option. (I’ve aged out and I never took it) Crop insurance essentially gurantees the bills are covered. If you want that then write the check yourself.

Probably the first 5 years would be alot of pain… but imagine those folks that went farming what they could
afford to lose… open up a lot opportunities for someone. My banker has never asked me to carry it and I feel comfortable farming more acres with out it…

I’m in the minority and maybe I’m wrong but I feel like a lot more people would be farming/ranching if your operation was self sufficient… the government has no business in what we do. If you want insurance… pay for it yourself or self insure
