Can't help much since you don't have a good grocery store close by. We got tired of Johnsonville a few years ago. It seemed like they got to the point where they were greasy and had a gamey flavor. We always par boil our brats in beer with a bunch of spices. It gives them more flavor and helps remove some of the grease before grilling. Even with doing that we got to where we did not like the Johnsonville brats anymore. We have a couple of HyVee stores pretty close by and that is where we buy a lot of our groceries. They have fresh made brats in their deli and they have a lot of different flavor combinations. Any of those par boiled in beer with spices are our favorite.
