Subject: What generation am I?

Was talking with a farmer friend and then this subject came up with the kids.
I started farming in 2005. Bought my first farm in 2003. My grandpa farmed and so did his lineage up to his great grandpa as far as I have knowledge of. My dad had 0 interest in farming. He Did “help” once in a while but was by no means a farmer. My grandpa died at age 60 and I was 16 so I wasn’t old enough to take over and unfortunately, my parents divorced when I was 5 and wasn’t involved much helping grandpa in which I loved as a kid. I always had a dream to farm someday and thankfully with a good blue color job, I was able to afford to buy a house on 40 acres in 2003. So since my dad didn’t farm, am I a first generation farmer or am I a 6th generation farmer since all my other ancestors farmed up to my triple great grandfather? Also, not to add confusion, there are several cousins of mine in my dad’s generation still farming today but they are not my direct lineage obviously. I guess I don’t know what the “rules” are to classify myself as. Curious to hear opinions on this. Thanks.
