NE Kansas
Get them on an ionophore, Rumensin or Bovatec. Worm them again in 2 weeks. The calves should be fed about 2% of bodyweight in grain. Get the Herford on some good brome hay that hasn't been rained on for 2 years. Your feed ration doesn't have much fiber in it so the hay is going to be important not only as a fiber source but also nutritional value. Calves his size should be on a higher protein ration, 16% until he's 800 lbs or so.

Also, good mineral and salt.

Looks like he's never got enough groceries and wormy.

Also, what kind of grass? Fescue, Brome, Prairie? Makes a difference. Some cattle don't do well on fescue, especially if it's infected with endophyte.
