I think you have some valid points and in theory are correct. But in reality we can have little change until the cost side of the equation is put back in line. When will that happen? My guess is never. As we are in late stages of capitalism it gets harder and harder to squeeze water out of the sponge. When will Deere cut the price of a new combine? When will seed get less expensive? When will the lenders be willing to take a haircut when things go sideways? We could cut crop insurance down to bare bones and see a bunch of mid sized farms go out of business in the next major supply issue. Then the consolidation can grow even more rapidly. I wonder if Deere or Corteva would rather work with 200,000 farmers or 10,000. The die is cast on all of this. We do not turn around until there is something that would force us. Maybe that will happen, maybe it won't. Either way all we can do is work under the rules and programs we have.
