Has the tractor been inspected in any way?? Depending on how it settled on the bottom a crane might be the best way to recover it, especially if you hope to salvage it for potential resale/restoration. The tractor is in 8 or 9 feet of water under approx. 6 inches of ice. The only way we could inspect it would be to chain saw a hole open then put somebody in a dry suit with Scuba gear. So the short answer is no it has not been inspected. The widow is adamamt that no one shall do anything until the ice is all gone. No negotiation. The only reason I am asking about repair/salvage/junk is because I simply don't know and if the tractor could be economically repaired and sold it would put a bit more money into the estate for the family. We have had lots of equipment offered to us for free for the removal so once we are connected to the tractor getting it out should be the easy part. Thanks again for everyones help. Dave. |
