I saw Border Collies do this when I was in NZ many years ago. It's very impressive what the breed can be trained to do. Mine doesn't heel very well so he's not much help in the holding pen.

Another NZ invention was a rotary holding pen where the cows exiting the barn would fill the back side of the crowd gate so they stay in a bunch. That way if they're grazing across a road they can be taken back as a group instead of wandering back at will.

Really wish we had camera phones back then.
