Subject: Got a leaky tire

Eastern Ontario

I have a 550/55/22.5 floatation tire on one of those rims that hardly have an edge to them. ( I don't know who came up with that idea ) It seems to spring a leak around the bead and I can't keep the air in it for a long time.

I've tried putting in a tube, but the valve of the tube ( only one I can get for this tire ) and the rim don't match too well in terms of location. So say the least, it didn't last too long.

I know of the sealant stuff you can pump into the tire, but that would require a whole lotta stuff and I don't want to mess with it in the tire if it doesn't do the trick.

What do you guys do to get the bead to seal better? Silicone?
