Subject: Manure/Litter Spreader Floor chain

Eastern Ontario

I recently broke my floor chain in one of my spreaders. It is a 667X type steel pintle chain. Although it has lasted for a good number of years, I think I want to upgrade to a stronger chain.

My BBI spreader has the 88K type steel pintle chain which seems to hold up good, but also not perfect.

I've seen some other spreaders that use a regular loop chain with slats welded to the links.

Question: what grade of chain are used for these type of spreaders? Are they of the Grade 70 type? What size of chain would trump the 88K pintle chain in terms of strength?
