In the real world, it's not as simple as you want it to be. The calf will probably fall somewhere between the sire and dam, but not always by a long shot. On ET siblings we have done, they can be way apart from each other, and can fall far from the sire and dam. For example, the sire and dam can both be good on CE, but if a calf has more "power" the CE may not be a good number at all and the growth numbers will support that. This is good news is, this is where the outliers come from, not that it is a concern for you. So, to answer your question, just buy what you want to, do the DNA, and live with the results
