| If you loose your farm (ranch) over this, you did something really stupid. Drovers had a piece today asking is we will yet see $4.00 feeders given the fact that few of the fundamentals have changed. Trump was the excuse used to crash the market that has been waiting for that excuse. Over the past several months the feeder market has gone down the limit for bogus hoaxes like screw worms showing up some place they weren't. Is this bad for ranchers selling calves right now? Absolutely! Will there be people jump back in to buy cattle they didn't think they could a few weeks ago? Absolutely. If I was someone who sold my calves for a ton of money, I'd be looking for the opportunity to buy quality replacement heifers a lot cheaper than I could of several weeks ago.
It's amusing to watch NCBA complaining about imports when for years they've fought MCOOL which only meant being able to differentiate American raised beef from imports. | |
