Brown county MN | I make enough stalk bales for our 20 some cow herd with a 435, its doesnt appreciate stalks, but what ive found works best for me, is to just bale. Combine rolls, follow with a JD 27 Flail chopper, get out the baler within 24 hours, set the pickup carefully and bale. Usually around 4-5mph, no windrows, no raking, I pick the heaviest fluffy spots i can find and go. It takes a bit longer, but the bales are tight, solid, clean, and square shouldered. I'm not making hundreds anyways.
On a side note, I always thought that stalk stoppers on the corn head and pushing the chopper on the 9510 ahead and putting the windrow boards we made on for corn stalks would be nice. Follow the combine and bale what comes off the walkers..
