| When I had a 535 baler, I replaced all belts, teeth in pickup and raised axles up if I recall. I took out compresser rack and took duct tape and taped over my dual twine arms so twine didn't pull out. I took it to Utah and baled for a farmer there custom in exchange for custom feeding my heifers. My baler had all new chains, etc. But over 30,000 bales on counter.
After that job I didn't want baler back, the farmer took the baler to do his stocks in future. First time for me baling stocks, I didn't have a problem, he raked with a big wheel rake. Being new to stock baling for me, I never wanted to bale them again, I couldn't believe the amount of wear on a baler doing his. Totally different than doing irrgatied alfalfa for me. Biggest problem with 535 JD baler is throat opening in baler isn't very big compared to newer models. That was the down fall of 535 baler. | |
