North Western IL | New to baling. Wanted to ease into the cost of equipment. Bought a John Deere 535 (yellow pickup) and trying it out on stalks. What a way to get an education. Thankful for the net wrap, worked good so far. Problem I have is the pickup.
I’ve tried about everything I know to do. Made the windrows smaller, bigger, mowed with batwing, didn’t mow. Ran the pickup higher, lower, drove faster, slower, engine PTO up and down. compressor rack in and out. Still plugs.
Best luck I’ve had is running the pto at about 420RPM and driving 2.5MPH. Anyone have any advice? It would be appreciated. Wearing out gloves pulling stalks out of the baler!
