Croswell, Michigan | I’m on the local school board. One of the first things I learned after getting on the board was how little I knew about running a school. The state mandates the curriculum. Basically we buy a curriculum package that meets these requirements. We can demo packages but I think it’s just different versions of the same thing.
We teach kids math that 98% of them will never use but we don’t teach math that 98% will use. I’m sure it’s similar for other subjects also. Math homework is the only thing I really help the kids with so this is what I see. | |
