| don`t put smack in the chat, I know arlan rubs some people the wrong way, but disagree with peace, love and understanding :-) arlan says the argentinian beef imports that everyone is livid about is a 2 day supply of our consumption . with china, Brazil and soybeans that didn`t happen overnight, china has been investing in Brazil over 2 decades, pre-dating trump`s ride on the escalator, we (the US) simply are no longer the cheapest supplier of soy.
with beef, I hear that packers at salebarns are buying bred cows to process, now I don`t know how wide spread that is or if it`s not out of ordinary for packer buyers to bid on bred cows who`s next choice might be rendering truck? but that is a factor that`s bigger with higher beef prices, i`m sure. seems to me beef prices are frothy and as slow as the herd takes to rebuild those 5 years it will take could irrevocably harm demand. however, supply demand wins ie: demand for $30 Ribeyes, but bare meat counter, you kind of have to let that play out, but taking Ribeyes to $50 I don`t know if that`s a good answer either. jm 2cents
edit: auto correct calls him "superman" I think i`ll leave it at that :-)
