Grabill, Indiana
I jumped on my Ancestry.com account and found some information.

A Jacob Herbst and his wife Barbara are listed inthe 1920 census. He is listed as born in Germany, she in Iowa to German born parents. He was listed as a farmer. His emigration date was listed as 1881. The ages are hard to read but they could be 44 and 40 for the couple. Jacob's naturalization date coule be 1886.

There is also a Jacob Herbst that registered with the draft for World War 1, listed with a birth date of September 8, 1876. Nearest relative was Barbara Herbst.

I found a Jacob Herbst buried in Saind Marys Cemetery in Remsen, Iowa. Death on April 17, 1932. I attached his obituary.
