Cash rent auction bout ten days ago, Stacyville, Iowa good dirt, $475 3 year contract. So to answer your question in reverse, that’s prolly about a $175/acre loss with county average yields.
Any idea on "winning" bidder? This a big farmer with large owned land base?
Cost averaging land cost is about the dumbest thing in Agriculture there is.
I have 4 profitable Taco Bell’s, but want 5. It will lose money but the other 4 will keep the average high enough to run the 5th at a loss. Make that make sense
