Tim,I think the dock is a slick idea,anchorage will be a challenge unless your lake is sheltered.I myself would avoid the ply.If you did wouldnt you need to put some thing like indoor out carpeting on the surface?I know that with 5/4 ground contact preserved would be ok at 16 inch OC,IDK if 24 OC will bounce a bit,might not even notice as base is floating.If its only in the lake for 3 months or so perhaps the rough sawn Cedar or Hackmatack would give it a nice feel.The hack will twist in the sun some.I like the thought of cedar planks,few if any splinters.No worry of foot splinters from PT .I think the PT 2x6 are not much more $$ than 5/4 though.No sag.
