| Your cardiologist should be managing your heart meds, not your family doctor. Why have a heart doctor at all if he isn't managing your heart health.
That being said, cardiologist like to prescribe statins and atorvastatin is the nastiest one available. 80 MG is also the max dose of it. I was on 40mg and it made me feel like I was beat with a chain everyday. Told them to stick it and find another option. 40mg of pravastatin with a 200mg of Co Q 10 gets me at goal and no side effects.
At the end of the day, you are the patient and the decision of what meds you take is your to make. Ask questions and push back making them listen to you.
Not a chance in hell they would put me back on atorvastatin.
