It's basically saying that is their historical track record.  The seed trials are generally placed where they have a good sized area in the field with consistent soil, pretty weil insulated from effects like endrows, messy terraces, timber, wildlife, creek bottom flooding, and so forth.   FIRST is not quite the same, but think about where your local retailer show plots are located when you drive down the highway.   They aren't hidden behind the trees on some steep rocky knob hill.
