Ontario | Winter canola is what we do in southern ON. Only variety i know of registered here is Mercedes it's imported from Germany. Last price i heard was around $800 a bag, it's not traited seed so weed control can be a bit of a headache and fertility requirements are fairly demanding. Yield can be very strong compared to spring canola but it doesn't like wet feet so winter survivability can be spotty. Guys that do it well around here can see 70+ fairly reliably but they only put it on the best ground | |
