West TN | Planting my first crop this year in West TN. It will be sold to Bunge to be crushed for sustainable aviation fuel. Contracted price is $11.25/bushel. Expected yield is around 50 bu/acre. Could be higher or lower, just don’t know yet.
My Pioneer canola seed was almost $600/50 lb bag. Planted 4 lbs/acre. Not much pest pressure that I’m aware of. Main disease concern is white mold. Will have to fungicide for it. Fertility requirements are about the same as for 80-100 bu wheat. | |
