If he honestly confirms he added the fungicide, then I would wonder if somehow the micros were so incompatible with the fungicide, that the micros negated the benefit of the fungicide. I find it hard to believe the micros could have that much of a negative effect on the fungicide, but it wouldn't be the first time I've been presented with results that were contrary to my logical supposition.
