Subject: RE: Medicare Plan F & G compared to Plan F-HD & Plan G-HD

The medishare example was for a certain instance...if you have advantage for more than a year..in this instance locally the hospital and clinic does not accept any advantage plan...

In the usa..currently (for how much longer I don't know)
When you get to be 65 you can enroll in mrdicare part a and part b.
If you have less than 20 credits...part a will be a hair over $550 a month..between 20 and 39...$285 a month....40 or more "free".(these numbers might not be exact, so please verify. Everyone pays for part b...it's either 185 or 187 a month.
A and b have holes...that is why you get a supplement (such as g or you could use the senior share (which you need to read and verify yourself)...drugs are not covered by a or b or supplement (other than those administered in the hospital) so you need to get a pard d.
Some of the advantage plans have a part d included.

It would sound good if you could have supplement and drug plan for 0 cost...but....
If you have an advantage...you still must keep up your a and b. Many advantage plans use networks..your dr or hospital might not be in network..then there are copays...seeing dr..labs, xray, mri..ct..ambulance..copy on er..also so much per day copay in hospital...etc...

You then might say...why do I have to get anything else but a and b...
Consider a has a $1600 deductible then a 20% copay..
B..which is dr and etc...about a 265 deductible..and copays..
and no coverage on drugs...with with plan d...after approx 2100 out of pocket you pay nothing (cap) other than premium (there might be some small per rx fee).

That is why you need a supplement (medigap and d) or (senior share and d) or advantage plan.
