Obamacare was a REPUBLICAN plan, fer Pete's sake. 

Obamacare was THE market solution to try to bring down health care costs. 

Maybe you don't remember, but health care costs were skyrocketing before the ACA was passed. That's why there was impetus for it. My wife is an RN. For 10 years her raises at work never covered the increase in insurance costs. Maybe you don't remember this. I do . 

And it didn't really work. It never was going to work. Because both corporations and the GOP gutted it and worked around it at every turn. 

The "failure" of the ACA is really more about GOP malfeasance than anything. And they got support for it. Because people don't really pay attention.
