The other part that works extremely well here under irrigation. And cant understand why more guys dont do it.

Rye ot triticale chop for silage in spring for the drylot cows, then plant corn behind it usually avg 210-215corn yet. So got cheap feed plus decent corn for cashflow yet. If run numbers it take 285-300 bpa corn of 1 time corn crop to match it money wise. Plus the small grain in-between really helps weed control and rootworm pressure. No brainer. Wish could do it on every acre.
