Subject: RE: Ridge Till or bedding Quesitons

Northeast ks
There are a few people doing that in northeast kansas on river bottom gumbo. Doing ridge till for drainage. Usually, they have the field leveled with a scraper. Sometimes, I've seen the ridges make it worse and dam up water in a low spot. I'm not convinced tile really helps that much on wabash clay soils. The best idea is getting something like a wolverine ditcher and draining the surface water in the worst spots. Then minimal tillage like disk in the fall and harrow in the spring.
