North Central Illinois | The organic certification requirement is no "prohibited substances" applied in the 36 months prior to harvest of a certified organic crop. So CRP would easily qualify UNLESS it was sprayed to manage weeds.
I'm certified organic. I wouldn't bother certifying less than 40 acres unless it was specialty vegetables or something. I have some 5 acre parcels that I certify but wouldn't if I didn't already certify other acres. | |
