Correct...F is no longer available.
The most popular now is G...and in the dust the next would be N.
Yes...it is possible to switch carriers and plans...but you must meet medical underwritting...which can be difficult.

What I have been seeing is that some have went with advantage plans (plan c)...but in our area the clinics and hospitals will not accept ANY..advantage plan available in that area...that is very difficult. One of the POSSIBLE soluations is a healthshare called Christian healthcare ministries...there are others that mimic them, but this group has been around for 45 years. They have a program called senior care...$115/mo...you pay first $500 they pay the rest...since you would drop your advantage..you would revert back to a and b...which is usually accepted everywhere...you would also be required to get a plan d dor drugs....but check out the senior care to your satisfaction...unsure about instances where a place charges more than medicare allows...this is very common on oxygen.
Then...if you don't like it...next year you can go back to advantage...and they can not hit you with underwritting...as for plan d..you can go from advantage to d without excess charge because the advantage is considered "creditable coverage".

Word on d...carefully how you enter things...around here the pharmacy will figure a drug plan for you.. well they set the pharmacy as their location. But if you look at mail delivery...or big chains...you can see significant differences.
Sounds weird...but sometimes a brand will be covered and generic will not....there are times when it would be cheaper to use the savings plans thru walmart... or walgreens...or get it thru drugs plus 15% or several other places...and not even run it through insurance..

It boils down to you have to do your homework, know the meds you take and take time to understand....the money you save will be your own...

Also..if the dr mentions he might put you on a certain med...put it on the list...and look at both with and without the possible new med.

Good luck !
