With good rotational grazing mgt *here* that 15k dollar ground will support an 1100 lb cow and calf pair at about 1 acre per pair May through December and that was through the 2023 drought. No hay or extra feed needed. My old house had a 5 acre pasture that was some pretty dark dirt, was a nice experiment at the time to see what kind of productivity a guy could get on "good ground". Gotta keep animals off when frost comes out on that kind of ground or they'd tear it up
